THE CLEAN ALTERNATIVE.
Freightliner has teamed up with Cummins Westport to deliver a natural gas alternative to traditional diesel power in a proven, reliable truck. The Cummins Westport ISL G 8.9 natural gas engine is designed for superior fuel economy, performance and dependability with near-zero emissions.
The Business Class M2 Natural Gas Class 7/8 truck is ready to provide you with a clean alternative in LTL/regional haul and distribution applications. The versatile, hardworking truck
is also available for government and municipalities, construction, P&D, utility and services.
A GREENER BOTTTTOM LINE.
Compared to previous natural gas offerings, the ISL G engine’s lower alternative fuel costs, improved fuel economy and lower incremental maintenance costs can save valuable dollars. Maintenance-free exhaust systems and lower life-cycle costs help green-up your bottom line. Federal & State Vehicle Tax Credits and Infrastructure Tax Credits available to green fleets can help reduce acquisition costs significantly. Contact your dealer for details.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

The Eaton parallel electric hybrid system enables the truck to operate using the diesel engine alone, or in combination with the hybrid electric motor. The hybrid motor provides additional power to launch the vehicle and improves fuel economy in stop and go operations.

Every time you engage the brakes on your hybrid truck you activate the regenerative braking system. During braking, the vehicle's kinetic energy is captured and regenerated to charge the hybrid battery. Regenerative braking captures up to 44kW (or 60hp) which is normally absorbed by the foundation brakes and lost as heat.
